I Asked AI to Roast Me. Instead, It Showed Me Who I'm Becoming.

What happened when I asked AI to describe me back to myself—and why every entrepreneur should try it

I tried a fun AI experiment this week.

I was expecting a joke. Maybe something about drinking too much coffee or talking about systems until people's eyes glaze over.

I figured I'd get a laugh, share it with friends and move on with my day.

But that's not what happened.

The Experiment

Here's what I did: I asked AI to create a fictional "warning poster" about me based on everything it knew - my work, my beliefs, how I show up online, the patterns in what I create.

Not a real poster. Just a description of what that poster might say.

I was half-expecting something roast-worthy. Something I could hang on my office wall as a joke.

Instead, AI handed me a mirror.

The Surprise

It didn't mock me. It summarized me.

Not perfectly. Not completely. But it spotted patterns I'd never really stopped to notice.

It mentioned how I keep coming back to the same themes: simplifying complicated things, building systems that actually work, encouraging people to take action instead of just planning and challenging assumptions that keep entrepreneurs stuck.

It wasn't reading my mind. It was reading the trail I leave behind.

Every article I write, every conversation I have, every framework I build - they all add up to something. AI just organized those observations into a picture I could finally see.

The Realization

Here's what hit me: We spend so much time working on our businesses that we rarely stop to ask, "What am I actually becoming?"

We track metrics. We optimize funnels. We study marketing and sales and AI tools.

But how often do we pause to notice the patterns in how we show up?

Your audience sees you more clearly than you see yourself. They notice what you keep coming back to, what you can't stop talking about, what you believe down to your bones - even when you haven't put words to it yet.

Sometimes you need something to hold up the mirror.

Why This Matters for Your Business

This isn't about ego. It's about clarity.

If AI (or anyone else) consistently describes you a certain way, pay attention.

Maybe that's the brand you're naturally building, whether you meant to or not.

Maybe those are the strengths you should lean into instead of fighting.

Or maybe it highlights blind spots worth exploring... patterns that serve you and patterns that don't.

Either way, it's valuable.

Self-awareness isn't fluffy. It's practical. The clearer you are about how you show up, the better you communicate, the stronger your brand becomes and the more authentic your business growth feels.

An Invitation

Curious what AI would say about you?

I've shared the exact prompt I used - plus tips for getting better, more meaningful responses - in the Self Made Success Community.

Inside, you'll discover:

  • The specific prompt that turned a fun experiment into genuine insight
  • How to personalize it so the results actually resonate
  • Follow-up questions that go even deeper
  • Ways to use AI for self-reflection and business clarity

It's not about the poster. It's about what you might learn when something holds up a mirror.

What patterns do you think AI would spot in your work? Sometimes the things we do without thinking are the things that define us most.
