This week my husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. |
I mention this not because you need to know my personal calendar, but because forty years teaches you something about endurance. And about change.
A lot of life happens in four decades. People change. Circumstances change. What worked when you were twenty-five doesn't necessarily work when you're sixty. You learn what matters, what doesn't, what is worth holding onto and what has simply become unnecessary baggage.
You don't keep doing something just because that's how you've always done it. That way leads to resentment, stagnation, or both.
Businesses work the same way.
The online business you built five years ago may not be the business you need now. The tools that felt essential then might be dead weight today. The systems that once saved you time might now consume it. The community you started might have become just another login people forget to check. Longevity requires adaptation.
This week's newsletter is about exactly that: evolving what you've built so it can grow with you instead of holding you back. We'll look at how community can become more than another platform to manage, and how a simple AI experiment helped me see my own patterns more clearly.
Let's get into it. |

Final Thoughts |
Are you building something that can evolve with you? |
Or are you maintaining a collection of tools, platforms, processes and workarounds that made sense at some point but may not serve where you're headed?
Here's the distinction that matters: Simplifying doesn't mean making your business smaller. It means removing unnecessary complexity so the important parts can work better together.
Your community shouldn't be another silo. Your systems shouldn't require constant duct tape. Your content shouldn't feel disconnected from your offers. And your business shouldn't feel like a museum of decisions you made three years ago.
This week, I want you to try something.
Identify one thing in your business you're maintaining simply because "that's how I've always done it." One process, one tool, one habit, one platform. Ask yourself honestly: Does this still deserve a place in the business I'm building now?
If the answer is no, you don't have to fix it immediately. Just notice it. Awareness comes first. The businesses that last aren't the ones that never change. They're the ones that change intentionally, keeping what matters and letting go of what doesn't.
Here's to building something that grows with you, not against you.
Until Next week...
xo,
