This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary.
Friday night, family came over with pizza and we spent the evening talking and catching up. On Saturday - our actual anniversary - we went out for a quiet dinner with our daughter and her guy friend at one of my favorite restaurants. It wasn’t a fancy trip or some faraway adventure. With my husband’s health challenges this year, we kept it simple. But you know what? It was still special.
I even took a few pictures of the evening lights downtown just to freeze the moment in time.
Here’s the thing: milestones matter. They remind us of the progress we’ve made, even if the path hasn’t been perfect.
And the same is true in business.
Sometimes we think the only milestones worth celebrating are the “big ones” — like a six-figure launch or hitting 1,000 subscribers. But the truth is, those big wins are made up of small, steady steps.
👉 That one subscriber who actually replies to your email.
👉 That first $7 sale you make online.
👉 That piece of content you publish, even when you weren’t sure anyone would read it.
Each one of those small milestones is worth pausing for. They’re the proof that you’re moving forward.
Just like anniversaries, business milestones remind us that progress is happening — even if the road hasn’t looked exactly like we imagined.
So my challenge to you this week:
Celebrate a milestone. Big or small. Take a moment to acknowledge how far you’ve come. You might be surprised by how much you’ve already achieved.
