The Missed Deadline...

Happy Monday and Merry Christmas to you and your family. 

So… confession time.

I waited until the last minute to order a few Christmas gifts this year.

I knew the shipping deadline.

And yep… I still missed it.

Old me would’ve spiraled.
Refreshing the tracking page.
Stress-calculating delivery windows.
Mentally rehearsing apologies.

But this year?

I didn’t.

I caught myself thinking, “Well… it is what it is.”
And then something clicked.

There are moments in life where missing the deadline feels like failure.

And then there are moments where missing the deadline reveals what actually matters.

This year, I realized something simple but powerful:

Not every delay is a disaster.

Sometimes it’s just life reminding you to slow down.

And honestly?

That lesson hit way deeper than any perfectly wrapped package ever could.

Deadlines vs. Direction

We treat business the same way we treat shipping deadlines.

We rush.
We pressure ourselves.
We convince ourselves everything has to arrive right now or it doesn’t count.

But here’s a truth most people don’t hear enough:

Progress doesn’t expire just because a date passes.

Missing a deadline doesn’t mean you’re behind.
Most of the time, it just means you’re human.

And when you stop panicking about the clock…
You start making better decisions.

Calmer ones.
Clearer ones.
More aligned ones.

That’s usually when things actually start moving forward again.

End-of-Year Reset Questions

As the year winds down, here are a few questions worth sitting with:

• What did I rush this year that didn’t need rushing?
• Where did I grow, even if it didn’t look like progress at the time?
• What felt heavy that I don’t want to carry into next year?
• What felt right that I want more of?

You don’t need all the answers this week.

You just need the space to ask the questions.
