I've been doing a little thinking lately. Dangerous, I know! LOL |
Between running a business, trying new things and keeping up with technology, it's easy to get so focused on what's NEXT that we forget to look at what's already working.
And sometimes, the best opportunities are the ones hiding right under our noses!
Here's what we're talking about this week:
Plus, this week's SMS Trend Radar: AI agents are taking on everyday business tasks, shopping assistants are changing how customers buy, automation costs are getting attention, and AI is challenging how service businesses charge for their work.
Plenty to explore, a few things to rethink, and hopefully something you can put to work in your own business.
Let's get into it! |

WHAT'S ON THE RADAR |
AI Agents Are Becoming Everyday Business ToolsAn October 14 OpenAI report found that weekly active users of agentic tools among small and midsize business customers in its EU sample grew 8.1 times since May. Businesses are increasingly moving beyond asking AI questions and using it to carry out tasks, manage workflows, and complete work across different tools.
AI Shopping Agents Are Changing the Customer RelationshipAn October 16 report highlights how AI shopping assistants are beginning to influence product discovery, purchases, and customer interactions. Amazon, Walmart, and Target are taking different approaches to allowing these agents into their shopping experiences, raising questions about who controls customer relationships and purchasing data.
Businesses Are Discovering the Hidden Costs of AI AutomationAs AI agents handle more complex tasks, businesses are discovering that automation can consume significantly more computing resources than simple chatbot conversations. New reporting highlights growing concerns about usage-based AI costs and the importance of choosing the right tools for each task instead of automating everything.
AI Is Pushing Service Businesses to Rethink How They ChargeAn October 19 report examines how AI is challenging traditional hourly billing in the legal industry. As technology completes certain tasks faster, firms are exploring ways to price services around results and client value rather than time spent. The same question could become increasingly relevant for consultants, freelancers, and other service providers. |

Final Thoughts |
Here's something I've been thinking about lately. |
We spend so much time looking for better tools, bigger ideas and faster ways to grow that sometimes we forget to appreciate what we already bring to the table.
Technology can help us work smarter, but it can't replace the experience, creativity, and personal touch we bring to our businesses.
So this week, don't worry about keeping up with everything.
Pick one idea, give it a try, and see where it takes you. Remember, success isn't about doing everything. It's about making progress on what matters.
xo,
P.S. If you're still waiting for that million-dollar business idea to fall out of the sky, you might want to check your own backyard first. Sometimes the thing you do without thinking is exactly what someone else would happily pay you to do. Just saying! LOL |
